Leadership Development

It's no coincidence that Betas make great leaders. It's the dedication of a continent of undergraduates and alumni working together to provide the highest quality leadership opportunities for the members of Beta Theta Pi. Simply put, Beta's leadership development is second to none. Headlined by the John Wooden Institute for Men of Principle, these opportunities are offered free or at minimal cost to any active brother wishing to participate. Each opportunity provides a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet and learn from undergraduates from across North America. Check out the following video for a teaser and learn more about the individual opportunities below.

Interested? We don't blame you. Opportunities like these change many lives and help build the foundation from which many of the future leaders of the corporate, political, and intellectual world succeed. Read on...

The Wooden Institute

John and Nellie Wooden Institute for Men of Principle

The Institute, as it is called, is Beta's premier leadership opportunity. Taking place over five days, Betas from all over North America make a "pilgrimage home" to Miami University to learn how to lead on their campus and in their chapter. Participants are divided into small ten man groups and lead through an internationally renowned leadership training program facilitated by alumni, interfraternal friends, and Greek advisers from across the country.

Beta Wilderness Challenge

Beta Wilderness Challenge

BWC is an outdoor leadership experience that takes Betas through a bold agenda centered on the Beta Ritual and a series of challenging outdoor elements. This five-day journey in a remote area of North America features backpacking, hiking, rock-climbing, camping and mountain navigation. This physically demanding experience allows participants to learn leadership, self-awareness, communication, an array of outdoor skills and, most importantly, how the Ritual applies to our daily lives.
